What is Star Magnolia

Star Magnolia or called the Magnolia stellata, scientific name:Magnolia stellata, is an endemic species of Japan, and it is a deciduous shrub of the Magnoliaceae family. In spring, before the leaves unfold, a large number of flowers with ten or more long white to pale pink elongated flower coverings are made to bloom. It inhabits the wetlands in central Honshu, such as Gifu, Aichi and Mie prefecture, however the number is low, decreasing, and is on the red list. Artificially planted with garden trees and street trees. Magnolia kobus (Scientific name: Magnolia kobus) Because the tree height is lower, it is also called Hime-kobushi inJapanese. The name of Star Magnolia is because the magnolia of scientific name and the flower cover look like a star.
