What is Freesia

Freesia (Freesia, scientific name: Freesia refracta) is a native South African, semi-cold resistant bulb plant of the family Iridaceae Freesia. In the spring, extend the spikes from flower stalks and bloom six to ten funnel-shaped florets. Leaves emerge from below the stem. Since it belongs to Iridaceae, it has elongated leaves similar to Hana shawub (iris), and the leaf tip is sharp. Numerous garden cultivars (Freesia x hybrida) are being bred.
