Nerine

Nerine (scientific name: Nerine sarniensis spp.) is a perennial (bulbous) horticultural plant of the genus {{Nerine sarniensis}} in the family Amaryllidaceae, native to South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. It produces shocking pink flowers similar to Lycoris radiata during the winter season from October to December.

The differences between higanbana (N. undulata) and nerine (N. sarniensis spp.) are as follows

Lycoris radiata native to China, poisonous, blooms in autumn, leaves appear after flowering.
Nelinae native to Africa, non-poisonous, blooms in winter, flowers and leaves appear at the same time.
