Hosta, giboshi or plantain lilies (scientific name: Hosta Hybrids) is native to East Asia, and is a cold-resistant perennial plant of the family Asparagaceae. It is a generic name of Hosta genus such as Koba Giboshi (Hosta sieboldii)and、Ooba Giboshi (Hosta montana) . In the early summer, a large number of white or purple flowers make bloom in the inflorescences stretched from the tip of the flower stalk.The corolla has a funnel shape with a synthetic flower covered with six flower pieces, and resembles lily flowers.The Japanese name is based on the fact that the flower bud resembles a traditional architectural decorative jewel.
