What is Argyroxiphium sandwicense

Silver swords (Scientific name: Argyroxiphium sandwicense) is an alpine shrub belonging to the Asteraceae genus. This species is a growing plant that transforms and grows only in Haleakala mountain in Maui , Mauna Kea in Hawaii Island, and Himalayas. The flower name is based on saying that it is a sword-shaped leaf covered with silver hair. The flower is a head flower consisting of a purple tongue-shaped flower and a tubular flower with a yellow tip and purplish red. Extend the inflorescences into the flower stems from between the leaves and add 100 to 500 head flowers. In 10 to 50 years the fertile flowers will bloom and leave the seeds will die and die. Fertilization is an insect flower made by a bee called Hylaeus volcanica, a Hawaiian species. Please see
