Schlumbergera truncata, as known as Christmas Cactus (scientific name: Schlumbergera truncata) is native to Brazil and is a semi-cold tolerant evergreen succulent plant of the family Cactaceae. It is called Christmas cactus because it is in circulation during the Christmas season, and Danish cactus (Denmark cactus) because it was bred in Denmark.
There are no leaves, but a flat stem called a stem has a leaf function. Because it is a short-day flower, it adds flower buds to the tip of the stem from autumn to winter when the day becomes shorter.
Blooms bright and transparent flowers. In recent years, many horticultural varieties have been created and the flower color has become rich.
Breeding is done with a leaf. It is strong against drying, likes water and strong sunlight. Use for potted plants.
