What is Tabebuia impetiginosa

Tabebuia impetiginosa or Pink Ipe (scientific name: Tabebuia impetiginosa) is a deciduous tree native to Brazil, belonging to the Tabebuia genus of the family Bignoniaceae. t is one of the national flowers of Brazil. it is also called Pau d'arco , pink ipê, Tabebuia impetiginosa', or Handroanthus impetiginosus. The leaves are palmately compound, and new shoots emerge and new leaves develop when the flowers are finished. It is deciduous in winter and produces 5 to 10 trumpet-shaped, peach-colored flowers in spring in panicles at the tips of its leafless branches. After flowering, it produces a capsule that is one size larger than a green bean. The capsules contain many feathery seeds that are spread by the wind. The flowers are the staple food of the striped horse mackerel (Heliomaster squamosus). The wood is hard, heavy, and difficult to work, so it is not used for furniture or other furnishings, but is used for outdoor building materials because it is rich in tannin and resistant to wind, rain, and sunlight.
Golden trumpet tree(scientific name: Tabebuia chrysotricha) and Pink tecoma (scientific name: Tabebuia rosea) are also found in the same genus.
