Vanda (scientific name: Vanda Orchid) is a non cold hardy plant of the genus Vanda in the orchid family, native to Papua New Guinea and other Southeast Asian countries.
Papua New Guinea, where the vanda is native, is the source of many orchids, including dendrobium, phalaenopsis, paphiopedilum, cymbidium, serosine, articholinum, aurantiloseum, calyclymentum, phlox, and others.
Vandas are epiphytic orchids with exposed roots on trees or rocks, sometimes planted in crates and suspended in the air. It is a single-stemmed species with one stem growing upward. The small orchids with a rope pattern on the petals are available in two types: the cerulea type, which has many blue flowers, and the sanderiana type, which has peach-colored flowers.
