Illicium anisatum

Illicium anisatum or called Japanese star anise (scientific name: Ilicium anisatum) is an evergreen small tall tree of the family Schisandraceae. In spring, the small, translucent, pale yellow, elongated petals from the axiles are hilarious. The leaves are round, long, thick and shiny. It is a tree that is essential to Buddha and is planted as a garden in a temple or cemetery. In the fall, the buds burst and release poisonous seeds. Not only the fruit but also the whole tree is poisoned, however it has been planted to protect the tombs by taking wildlife and cats and dogs away from the tombs using its toxicity. The leaves are served in front of the Buddha and the tomb, and they have been used as incense and powdered incense since they smell like macadam. There are also white flower varieties.
