Edohigan (scientific name: Cerasus itosakura f. Ascendens) is a deciduous broadleaf trees of cherry tree in the family Rosaceae " < i class = "linkify icon"> cherry .
Many trees with longevity exceeding 1000 years remain.
It begins to bloom around the spring equinox (March 21) ahead of the Somei-Yoshino cherry tree.
Flowers are white to light crimson, single.
There is a spherical bulge at the bottom of the calyx.
A typical cherry tree Yoshino cino ,
It is a gardening species which has been bred from this Oshimazakura and this species.
