Sarracenia leucophylla

Sarracenia leucophylla, aka the white-topped pitcher plant, or crimson pitcherplant (scientific name: Sarracetnia leucophylla) is native to the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in North America, and the family Sarracenaceae is a carnivorous, perennial. The leaves have a cylindrical shape with a tip that stands up to about 70 cm, and the upper and lid leaves have a red and white mesh pattern. Before the leaves come out, the flower stalks are stretched, and in the spring, flowers of complex oil-colored blossoms bloom at the tips of the flower stalks. The flower structure consists of five sepals, five tongue-shaped petals, and an umbrella-shaped coral in order from the outside. In the cage, there are cots and stamens surrounding them. As a visiting insect passes through the umbrella, pollen adheres to the insect and arrives at the stigma and is pollinated. In autumn, the tube-shaped leaves are stretched and the top of the insects are spread out. Aroma and sweet nectar are put out from the back of the lid to attract flies, and the insects that fall into the tube are melted and nourished.
