Spatterdock

Spatterdock or Kohone (scientific name: Nuphar japonicum) is native to Japan, the Korean Peninsula, Taiwan, and is a perennial aquatic plant of the family Nymphaeaceae water lily. A golden flower makes bloom at the tip of an elongated flower stalk in a pond or shallow water. The flowers consist of calyx which seems like a petal of large petals (stamen) -> large number of petals (stamen) -> long and thin petals -> petals from the center towards the periphery. Leaves are bigger than flowers. Nauhalidine, an alkaloid contained in the rhizomes, is regarded as a tonic, hemostatic agent, and becomes a herbal medicine named Senkotsu. Flower language is "secret affection". In the same genus, there is Himekohon (scientific name: Nuphar subintegerrimum) that makes smaller flowerss bloom than Kohone (Nuphar japonicum) .
