Paradise Regine (scientific name: Strelitzia reginae) is native to South Africa and is a tropical perennial of the family Strelitziaceae. It has a large long root leaf. Because it makes colorful flowers similar to the cockscomb of the paradise bloom, in Japanese name it is called Gokurakutsuka (paradise flower). Extend the fan-shaped inflorescence from the tip of the flower stalk and attach a beak-shaped Buddha bract. In this bract, add several flowers consisting of calyx and blue-violet tongue like flowers resembling orange cockscomb. It is used for garden planting, greenhouse cultivation, cut flowers. In addition, leaves are also beautiful so it is used as interior decorative plants. The genus name is attributed to Queen 's birth home Strelitz.
