Dianella ensifolia is an evergreen perennial grass tree of the department Xanthorrhoeaceae , of Dianella genus to inhabit the tropics of Southwest Japan and Australia. The leaves are slender in green. Spring, elongated stem tips reach panicles, many small violet colored flowers.
