What is Edogiku
Edogiku Chrysanthemum > Classical Chrysanthemum (Scientific name: Chrysanthemum morifolium cv. Edogiku) is a type of classical chrysanthemum cultivated in Edo (present-day Tokyo) during the Edo period.
Its petals can be flat (heiben), spoon-shaped (shiben), or tubular (kanben).
The flower reveals its central disc florets, but as it blooms, the surrounding ray florets gradually stand upright, bend, and envelop the disc florets, changing little by little each day.
C. m. is an abbreviation for Chrysanthemum morifolium.
