What is Himalayan Cedar

Himaraya cedar,(scientific name: Cedrus deodara) is an evergreen high-wood conifer of the family Pinaceae, native to the Himalayas. The tree height is 50 m locally, but 20-30 m in Japan. The trunk is upright, and the horizontal branches extend greatly downwards, so the tree shape is conical. The bark is gray, has fine cracks and peels off like a scale. Flowering is from October to November, and the cone is formed in the following year from October to November. The cone is large enough to be seen from a distance. Trees are considered to be the world's three largest landscaping trees, and are used for park trees, garden trees, and roadside trees.
