Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim

Vanda Miss Joaquim (scientific name: Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim ← Vanda hookeriana × Vanda teres) is a perennial plant (orchid) of the genus Vanda in the orchid family, native to Singapore. It is a natural hybrid between Vanda hookeriana (Malay) and Vanda teres (Burma), and is the world's first orchid hybrid in Singapore. After this column, artificial orchid varieties began to be bred. Vanda Miss Joaquim has a tall stem, about 2 m, with flowers at the top; it has many flowers on one stem; it has a large number of flowers on the top of the stem; and it has a large number of flowers on the bottom of the stem. The frilly, light purple petals with dark peach lip petals are beautiful and bloom all year round, which is why it was chosen as the national flower of Singapore on April 15, 1981.
