Pinus armandii

Pinus armandii, Armand pine, Chinese white pine or Takane goyo (scientific name: Pinus armandii) is an evergreen coniferous tree of the family Pinaceae, native to Taiwan and China. It grows naturally in the high mountains at an altitude of 1200 to 3500 m in Taiwan. The bark is grayish brown and tears vertically like a turtle shell. Since it is a five-leaf pine system, five linear leaves grow from one place and droop for a long time. It is a dioecious flower with male flowers at the bottom of the branches and female flowers at the top. The fruit will bear fruit in the fall of the following year.
Pinus parviflora (Goyo matsu, scientific name Pinus parviflora). The leaves of P. parviflora are denser. On the other hand, the leaves are longer in P. armandii.
