Octopus Orchid, scientific name:Encyclia cochleata , is a perennial's plant of the department Orchidaceae of Prosthechea genus in Caribbean coastal countries of origin. It is the national flower of Belize. It is from summer to fall in origin warm and humid forests of trees species epiphyte. Egg-shaped bubble shaped similar to the floating cysts plays two large oval shaped leaves. And stretch the racemes from the stem tip out from between the two leaves 1-number of flowers that bloom. Beneath them are out like tentacles in their slender white petals, flowers is dark purple with a yellow muscle.
