What is Pogonia

Pogonia (scientific name:Pogonia japonica) is a deciduous perennial orchids of origin, Japan. Sunny wetland communities to Wild Orchid stems of many issues on the ground, underground Rhizome. Leaves oblanceolate in oblong shape with only one at the bottom of the stem. In early summer at the stalk end pink florets bloom sideways 1 wheel only. Flowers consists of sepals one, two side petals, lip one (a three-lobed). Stretched long and thin beneath the flower bracts. Beard-like many is located inside the white outer lip. It is a scientific name Pogonia is a Latin word. Flower names that depends on which resembles the Ibis bird flower color and form is as a natural monument. 

Common name: pogonia (Toki grass), scientific name:Pogonia japonica, origin: Japan, Korea, China, East Asia, Habitat: Hokkaido, Japan-with only one in the middle of Kyushu Japan, living conditions: sunny bog, living type: perennials, plant: place 15 to 25 cm, leaf shape: lanceolate-oblong, leaves out: Scape, leaf length: 10 cm, leaf width: 1 cm, single terminal inflorescences, blooming: May-July, flower color: pink, Corolla: sepals 1 、side petals 2、 (a three-lobed) lip 1, flower length: 2 cm, fruit: capsule and ripens fruit.
