Heloniopsis orientalis ,commonly called Japanese hyacinth, is an evergreen perennial of the family Melanthiaceae, genus Heloniopsis native to Japan. It grows wild on the damp ground in a plain and forest of Kyushu to Hokkaido. The radical growths leaf opens with form of rosette evenly radially. The leaf has luster in wide linear shape. It makes several flowers of the sideways-facing to short raceme postponed bloom till spring from a flower stalk. The Japanese name depends on a flower on a reddish tinge resembling a heavy drinker (It seems to like liquor in the animals in the Chinese legend) and having chosen a nature leaf to a hakama.
