What is Mammillaria carmenae
Mammillaria carmenae or Old lady cactus, scientific name: Mammillaria carmenae, is a verrucous cactus of the genus Mammillaria of the cactus family, native to central Mexico. In its native habitat, it grows wild on dry, rocky shores. It produces numerous spherical to square verrucae. In spring and summer, buds emerge from the hairs in the axils of the verrucae and small pink flowers bloom like a hair ornament. The genus name, Mammillaria, means "having warts.
