Comment
Crepidiastrum keiskeanum or common called Azetouna (scientific name: Crepidiastrum keiskeanum) is native to Japan and is a perennial of the Asteraceae family. It grows naturally in the coastal rocky area of the western part of Izu Peninsula to the Pacific coast of Kyushu in Honshu. The plant height is as low as 10 cm, it roots and clings to the rocky ground. The stems are thick spatula and there are dull serrated teeth on the leaf edge. After the side branch which came out from the axil of the main trunk slightly crawls, the scattered inflorescence extends from the tip of the slanting slope. From autumn to winter, a yellow little head flower blossoms densely in the inflorescence. Flowers are composed of about 14 petals, 14 stamens and 1 stamens. There are four shallow jagged edges at the tip of each petal. The genius " Crepidiastrum " means " crepis (genus crepis) + astrum (similar to) ", and species" keiskeanum " a dedication to Dr. Keisuke Ito who was a phylologist. Flower language is "unchanging love".
It is similar to Crepidiastrum platyphyllum(Wadan). The difference between them is that Azettouna has low plant height, while Wadan has high plant height.
