Adiantum pedatum

Adiantum capillus-veneris, Southern maidenhair fern, black maidenhair fern ( scientific name: Adiantum capillus-veneris) is an evergreen perennial fern of the genus Adiantum, which is found in temperate to tropical regions of the world. It is also called by its genus name, Adiantum. In Japan, it grows wild along the coasts and riverbanks of Izu Peninsula and Shikoku to Kyushu. It does not flower. It is popular as an ornamental plant. The same genus includes the peacock fern (scientific name: Adiantum pedatum) and the Hakone fern (Adiantum monochlamys).
