What is Digitalis

Digitalis, the foxglove, (scientific name: Digitalis purpurea L.), is native to Europe and is a cold-resistant annual, biennial, perennial or shrub in the family Plantaginaceae. It is a tall plant that extends the inflorescences from the tip of long flower stems and makes many tubular flowers bloom. The flowers bloom diagonally downward. In the first year only rosette-like leaves are crowded, and the flowers bloom after the second year. The basic color is purple, but there are many horticultural varieties such as red, pink, orange, yellow, pale yellow and white double color, spotted on the inside of the flower. The whole grass is a toxic plant, but if used properly by experts, it is also considered to be a medicinal use, and it is believed that the leaves have an effective ingredient for cardiac action.
