What is Lyacaste skinneri|National Flower of the Republic of Guatemala

Lyacaste skinneri ,commonly called Monja Blanca (scientific name: Lyacaste skinneri var. alba) is a deciduous perennial herb native to Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, and Honduras in the genus Lycastes of the orchid family. Also known as 'Monja Blanca' (white nun), it was nominated by Leticia M. de Sutherland of Guatemala and approved as the national flower of the Republic of Guatemala on February 11, 1934. The Guatemalan national flower is an endangered species and is protected by the national government. It is endangered and protected by the government.
Ricaste scinneli is a large species of orchid that grows on trees and rocks in subalpine moist forests from 1200 to 1800 meters. It produces long lanceolate leaves from thick false scales, which fall off in the fall. Then, in winter or early spring (November to April), the false scale stems produce upright inflorescences that produce 4 to 12 large-diameter (15 cm to 30 cm), single-petaled flowers over a long period of time. The petals are triangular, and the flower color varies from white to pink to lavender, which is the source of many garden varieties.
