Hoya is a tropical, climbing, evergreen broadleaf shrub and succulent plant belonging to the genus Hoya in the Apocynaceae family (previously classified under Asclepiadaceae). It is native to Japan, China, Taiwan, and Australia.
Due to its thick, glossy leaves, it is commonly known as the "Wax Vine."
