Clematis patens or Kazaguruma (Windmill, scientific name: Clematis patens) is a type of Clematis (scientific name: Clematis L.) that is native to Japan. As it is a wild species, it is often named after geographical locations. It is considered the parent of many cultivated varieties, such as Shirobana Kazaguruma (White Windmill, scientific name: Clematis patens f. leucantha).
